A Springfield man shot dead, and another man injured in Cottontown yesterday.  Deputies responding to a report of a shooting found a man shot in the face. He was taken from the scene by LifeFlight. Witnesses at the scene described and identified the shooter as 25-year-old Dontarius Long. He was later found dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. Two people are hospitalized following a fiery head-on crash on Buzzard Creek Rd Monday afternoon. Barry Baker, Supervisor of Career and Technical Education at Robertson County Schools, was killed in a 2008 traffic accident on Tom Austin Highway, just outside of Springfield. One of his students, real-estate developer, and 2004 ERHS graduate, Caleb Fuqua, recently memorialized Baker in one of Robertson County’s newest subdivisions by naming a street in his honor.
