The Tennessee River is a lot cleaner.  The non-profit Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful removed over 22-thousand pounds of trash from the river over the last month.  Clean-up events were held in Tennessee and Alabama.  Nearly 80 volunteers helped to remove tires, barrels and toilet seats from the river. A Springfield man shot dead, and another man injured in Cottontown yesterday.  Deputies responding to a report of a shooting found a man shot in the face. He was taken from the scene by LifeFlight. Witnesses at the scene described and identified the shooter as 25-year-old Dontarius Long. He was later found dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
