The Portland Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be food and craft vendors, some local area farms will also be set up selling products, an thee will be free live music during the event on Market Street.  Parking will be available in the city lot off E. Robertson County residents are feeling more pain ath the pump.  Since last Monday, gas prices have risen an average of ten-cents.  It’s the second consecutive week prices at the pump have averaged a double-digit increase.  The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is now three-dollars-and-12-cents, which is 22 cents more than one-month ago.

There are 540 new coronavirus cases in Tennessee.  The Tennessee Department of Health reported the new cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to over one-million-266-thousand.  An additional seven COVID-19-related deaths were also reported, with the total number standing at nearly 15-thousand-900.  There are over 14-hundred COVID-19 hospitalizations in Tennessee.

The Tennessee Education Lottery is reporting record revenue.  TEL officials reported nearly 502-million dollars of total revenue between July 1st and September 30th.  That’s the highest of any fiscal year’s first quarter since the lottery started in 2004.  A total of 118-million dollars was transferred to the Lottery for Education Account during the first quarter.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation is hiring.  TDOT will hold a rapid hiring event today from 8:30 in the morning until 3 o’clock in the afternoon in the auditorium of R3 Complex Building A on Centennial Boulevard.  Candidates must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
