Area realtors say a drop in home sales last month does not necessarily mean the market is cooling off. The number of home sales in Nashville last month fell by eight percent over last year at this time. Officials with the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors say the reason is a lack of new listings compared with last year — when the region recorded a 28 percent jump in listings. They say while inventory may be low now, so is the number of buyers in the market, which means less competition for homes coming on the market.
