There are over 31-hundred new coronavirus cases in Tennessee. The Tennessee Department of Health reported the new cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to over one-million-244-thousand. Over 40 additional COVID-19-related deaths were also reported, with the total number standing at more than 15-thousand-400. Robertson County Hunters can help fill a great need by donating venison to their Hunters for the Hungry Program. There are over 50 processors across the state accepting donations of whole deer as well as part of a deer which will be prepared to go to soup kitchens and food banks. The State Wildlife Federation says one deer can provide around 165 meals. Complete information about the Hunters for the Hungry Program is available at TNWF-dot-org.
There are a lot of jobs just a short drive away, More than 200 seasonal positions are open at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. Managers are looking to fill the special events jobs as the resort prepares for the annual A Country Christmas festivities. The resort is also hiring for full and part-time positions in a number of departments. The Tennessee legislature will meet for a special session on Wednesday, October 27th. Members of the Republican-led legislature say they hope to block what they call “burdensome COVID-19 mandates” during the special session. Republicans say the session is expected to stretch into the following week. Another special session to approve 500-million dollars in incentives for Ford to build an electric truck plant near Memphis is set. (Source Press release)
