The city of Coopertown and its residents held a 25th anniversary celebration last Saturday at Coopertown Middle School.  The town was born in 1996 when nearby residents banded together to prevent a landfill in the area.  A number of events were held throughout the day by the Coopertown Police Department, which included displays of police cars, a TBI mobile crime lab, ladder truck, Robertson County Sheriff vehicles, as well as an ambulance and tractors. As White House officials eye a December completion date for its Billy S. Hobbs Community Event Center, plans are also under way to construct a recreation center next door.  The two-story, 52,000-plus square-foot facility will be along the hill and down to what is presently a parking lot making it the final structure to define the Municipal Complex. Dolly Parton will be the headliner for an inaugural benefit concert.  The Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye benefit concert will be held in the Country Music Hall of Fame’s CMA Theater on Sunday, October 24th.  Other performers include Artimus Pyle Band, Linda Davis, Collin Raye, and Dennis Quaid.  The money raised will benefit the Susan G. All the employees at the TVA will be required to get the COVID-19 vaccine. While the details are still being worked out TVA saya employees must be fully vaccinated by Nov. 22. That includes the estimated 180 employees of the TVA plant in Cumberland City on Highway 149.. (Source Clarksville NOW)

Dover Motorsports announced today that Nashville Super Speedway will host three races on the weekend of June 24th.  The weekend will open with the Camping World Truck Series race on Friday night and the Tennessee Lottery 250 NASCAR Infinity Series race on Saturday night.  The trio of races wraps up with the Ally 400 on Sunday.
