There are over 39-hundred new coronavirus cases in Tennessee.  The Tennessee Department of Health reported the new cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to nearly one-million-155-thousand.  Over 30 additional COVID-19-related deaths were also reported, with the total number standing at over 14-thousand.  There are over 36-hundred COVID-19 hospitalizations in Tennessee.

Last week, TriStar Health announced the completion of the purchase of NorthCrest Health in Springfield. The hospital will be renamed TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center, connecting it to TriStar Health, one of the largest healthcare providers in Middle Tennessee. Net proceeds from the transaction will be approximately $14-$16 million and will be used to create a new non-profit foundation specifically focused on supporting the health and wellness of Robertson County.

A man was flown from Hopkinsville to Nashville Sunday afternoon after being shot in the face with an arrow.  He was first taken taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center then airlifted to a Nashville hospital. Police say the shooter has been located, but as of now has not been officially charged.

Two people were killed in a head-on collision Monday in Mt. Juliet.  The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports  21-year-old Travis D. Fennessey, of Mt. Juliet, was traveling southbound on South Mount Juliet Road when he crossed the center line and crashed into a northbound vehicle driven by 40-year-old Luis Alberto Flores Garcia, of Lebanon. Both drivers died as a result of the crash.  It’s unclear at this time why Fennessey crossed the center lane.  The accident remains under investigation.

The annual “Autumn in the Brier” event will be held on Sat. Sept 25th from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Greenbrier Historical Society Museum & Library grounds across from Greenbrier City Hall. The fall event is free to attend and features historical demonstrations, a Bake Sale, Book Sale, Silent Auction, BBQ, Hamburgers, Hot dogs, and vendor booths.
