Springfield Police say a man was injured when a barrage of bullets were fired at at the Cumberland Square Apartments Tuesday night. The 21-year-old is in stable condition at Vanderbilt. Police are combing the crime scene looking for shell casings, vehicles that may have been hit by gunfire, and other clues that could tell them who shot the victim – and why.
The City of Adams is hosting its First Annual Fall Fest October 29th from noon to 9:00 and October 30th from 10 AM to 9 PM at the Bell School and Omer Gene Brooksher Pavilion. The event will feature music, food, activities for all ages, costume competition, and trunk or treat.
The American Red Cross is setting a deadline for Mid-State flood victims to file for assistance. Middle Tennesseans whose homes were impacted by August’s historic flooding have until September 30th to register for assistance. Flooding in Humphreys County killed 20 people last month. More than 17 inches of rain fell in the area on August 21st.
A new company is setting up operations in Wilson County that will lead to hundreds of new jobs. Thermo Fisher is a life sciences company based in Massachusetts that works in partnership with biopharma companies producing therapeutics and vaccines. Governor Bill Lee says the company has committed more than 100-million-dollars to build a new assembly facility in Lebanon. The project will create 400 jobs in the near term and ultimately 14-hundred jobs.
