Members of the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency Special Operations team have been deployed to Humphreys County to aid in the catastrophic flooding event taking place in that region. Robertson EMA has special training and equipment for water rescue. Local services have not been affected.

President Biden is promising to support Tennessee following deadly flooding in the Mid-State.  Biden was briefed by FEMA administrators yesterday about the flooding in Humphreys and surrounding counties.  Governor Bill Lee says he’s heard from the President and will be requesting assistance from the federal government.  The flooding has killed at least 22 people and dozens of others are missing.

The foreman for Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Humphreys County is among the victims of deadly flooding.  The country music star announced the death of Wayne Spears on social media yesterday.  Spears was swept away by floodwaters on Saturday.  At least 22 people are dead and dozens of others are missing following flooding across parts of the Mid-State.

Robertson County Music Fans are mourning the passing of one of its fovorites.  Don Everly, of the Everly Brothers, died Saturday in Nashville.  The Everly Brothers were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.  Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum CEO Kyle Young called Everly “one of the most talented and impactful artists in popular music history.”

The singer-songwriter behind the hit “Harper Valley P.T.A.” is dead.  His son confirmed Tom T. Hall died Friday at his home in Franklin, Tennessee.  Hall was known as the Storyteller for his songs about life’s simple joys.  He was inducted into The Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019. Tom T. Hall was 85.
