There is more than $1.1 billion dollars in unclaimed property waiting to be claimed in Tennessee, and almost $3.5 million of this for individuals and business in Robertson County. The Unclaimed Property Division says you can see if any of it is yours by searching their  online database of unclaimed property at ClaimItTN.gov. that website also includes a link to help you search for missing money in other states.

Traffic was slow on I24 west Sunday night near Coopertown after a pedestrian was hit by a passing vehicle. Why 60-year-old Lonnie S. Sanders of  Alexandria was on the interstate is still unclear. Sanders was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Governor Bill Lee says he doesn’t like the idea of businesses requiring vaccinations for COVID-19.  While in Franklin yesterday, Governor Lee said he thinks requiring vaccinations “is generally a bad idea for private businesses or anybody.”  Critics of vaccination requirements say it’s a form of discrimination and a violation of privacy.  Tyson Foods, Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Meharry Medical College are among private businesses in Tennessee requiring employees to get vaccinated against COVID.

Faith leaders and doctors from across the state are pleading their case for politicians and other leaders to change their stance regarding mask-wearing at public schools.  Pastors with the Southern Christian Coalition are calling on school boards and state and local governments to put a mask requirement in place for kids.  Because they are largely unvaccinated, the rise of COVID-19 among children is alarming health officials.  Over two-thousand kids in Tennessee under the age of ten tested positive for COVID last week alone.

Remote Area Medical- a major nonprofit provider of pop-up clinics delivering free, quality, dental, vision and medical care to underserved and uninsured individuals—will return to Springfield, this Saturday to provide free care. No ID is required. Free dental, vision, and medical services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The one-day clinicwill be held at The Center, located at 401 North Main St.
