Gov. Bill Lee and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe sayRobertson County is among 54 counties to receive ThreeStar grants. ThreeStar grants help fund and support local workforce training, health, and economic development initiatives. Robertson County will be awarded 50K. Some $2.4 million in funding to Tennessee communities is being awarded in this round of the ThreeStar grant program.
The Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency will be hosting a 2-day FREE food giveaway event in Robertson County set for Wednesday, August 4th and Thursday, August 5th from 9 am to 3 pm at Travis Price Park. Food will be given to all Robertson County residents in need.
A former high school band director in Montgomery County is being indicted for theft. An investigation by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office accuses Brock Cobb of stealing more than 27-hundred-dollars from Rossville High School band’s spring break fund. Money was collected to pay for a trip to New York City last year, but when that didn’t happen because of the pandemic the funds were returned. But the returned funds were less than what was originally paid and that prompted an investigation by the Comptroller.
Clarksville’s Manna Café Ministries is hosting a “Back to School Bash” at 10:00 Saturday morning on their parking lot on Providence Blvd. School supplies including clothes, backpacks, pencils, notebooks and more will be given away at no cost. There will also be music, games, food and much more. This event is free and open to all members of the community.
State Republicans are urging Tennesseans to get vaccinated against COVID-19. A letter released yesterday stating vaccinations are not a political issue was signed by 16 of 27 members of the Tennessee Senate Republican Caucus.
