Whether you’re looking to trick-or-treat or flaunt your epic costume, a new study claims that Halloween takes a spooky turn in this Tennessee town. To determine the top Halloween spots in the country, Mixbook surveyed 3,000 families to discover the top destinations for a Halloween celebration. Known for its mysterious and fascinating history, Adams ranked the 45th best Halloween destination in the survey. For two centuries, tales of the Bell Witch have haunted Tennesseans. It all dates back to a farm in Adams, Tennessee, where legend has it, that John Bell was haunted by a witch in 1820.

On Saturday, the third annual Battle of the Badges supporting Special Olympics Area 21 was a slam dunk in Sumner County. Members of the Gallatin Police Department, the Hendersonville Police Department, the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, the Gallatin Fire Department, and the Hendersonville Fire Department hit the court at Liberty Creek High School for a good cause. Referees from the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) volunteered their day to help out with the event. One of the highlights of the day was Sumner County’s unified basketball team taking on Cheatham County’s unified basketball team. The Gallatin Fire Department came out on top, winning the tournament for the second year.

Firefighters battled a blaze in Montgomery County early Sunday morning that destroyed one home and damaged others. Multiple stations responded to a structure fire on Deerstand Drive in Woodlawn at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, with mutual aid from the Fort Campbell Fire Department. When units arrived at the scene, they said they found a house fully involved in flames and exposures on both sides. Fire officials described that home as a “total loss.” In addition, the siding of the houses next to it was damaged.
