The Midstate will be installing two new baby boxes this week. Safe Haven Baby Boxes allow parents in a crisis to surrender infants safely and anonymously. The state’s 11th box will be on Medical Center Boulevard in Murfreesboro. Organizers installed it today. Tennessee’s 12th box will be in Tullahoma and will be installed tomorrow. According to the organization, 52 infants have been safely surrendered to Safe Haven boxes since 2017. With these new additions, there will be a total of 275 Safe Haven Baby Boxes across 17 states.

The Sumner County Spay Neuter Alliance (SCSNA) in Gallatin celebrates Global Cat Day tomorrow (Wednesday 10/16) by spaying or neutering 200 cats in Wilson and Sumner Counties. The events will take place with one in Lebanon and another in Gallatin on Wednesday and Thursday to celebrate Global Cat Day and National Feral Cat Day.
