A Mt. Juliet High School and Golden Bear football player is fighting for his life after he hydroplaned off the road during severe weather over the weekend. Jaxon Rocchiettie was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. On Saturday afternoon, Jaxon was driving home from work on Old Lebanon Dirt Road when he hit some water and hydroplaned. “He slid off the road completely which made the hydroplane worse, and he hit two trees and then a third tree with full force on the passenger side. The Hendersonville Police Department has enlisted the help of local gyms to curb vehicle thefts. On Monday, the department handed out informational fliers to nearby fitness centers. The signs remind the public of proper safety practices when parking their vehicles in gym parking lots. Vehicle burglaries at fitness centers are not a new crime trend. It is, however, something that Hendersonville police said is on the rise in and around Nashville. Police recommend you lock your stuff, and if you are taking your stuff from your car to the locker in the gym, make sure you lock it up with a padlock

A Lebanon student was arrested Tuesday for being suspected of creating AI-generated bomb-threat voicemails that prompted a school evacuation back in early September. On September 12, two bomb threat voicemails were reported to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office that specifically threatened to harm Barry Tatum Academy (BTA). Shortly after, BTA students and staff evacuated the campus as officers and K-9 units swept the school, no threats were found. An investigation determined that the voicemails appeared to be AI-generated and authorities were able to trace them back to a current BTA student. The student suspect was taken into custody by Wilson County authorities and is currently being held in juvenile detention.

Sumner County Sheriff’s deputies made a large drug bust after pulling over a vehicle for multiple traffic violations Sunday morning. A K9 unit was called to the scene and alerted officers to the presence of drugs. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies discovered multiple small bags of a white powdery substance and 130 counterfeit fentanyl pills.
