On Monday night, the Lebanon Police Department investigated what they called “a domestic situation” that closed part of a bypass. Police posted to Facebook that officers were on the scene of “a domestic situation” just after 10 p.m. on West Baddour at Fairview Avenue. The department added that they would provide updates when possible. No other immediate details were released.

A Gallatin City Council candidate is being questioned on her residency. The Sumner County Election Commission will conduct a hearing tomorrow “to resolve a challenge” involving the residency qualifications of candidate Lashonda Jones. Jones says the Issue stems from her having two different addresses in her voting records: a mailing address and her physical address. A former councilman filed a complaint, which questioned where Jones lived. Voting records listed a Hendersonville address, which Jones says is where she sends her mail, but her application to run has a Gallatin address, where she says she lives.

A newly elected Wilson County school board member, Greg Hohman, is going after a former Green Hill High School Teacher of the Year, Janie Johnson over a social media post that Johnson made during Hohman’s election campaign. According to Hohman’s complaint, Johnson made posts on social That exaggerated g about overhearing Hohman yelling at his son’s teacher. Hohman argues this was all an effort to support his opponent. The Wilson County School Board voted to defer the investigation to human resources because the board says teacher complaints and discipline is outside their responsibility, so they are taking the right steps to follow the law.

Tennessee is third least-expensive state in the nation for gas prices. The decrease in pump prices picked up momentum last week, with pump prices across the state falling nine cents, on average. Tennessee pump prices also fell below $3 per gallon last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.93 which is 15 cents less expensive than one month ago and 48 cents less than one year ago.
