A Gallatin woman has been charged in connection with an explosion at her home earlier this summer. The explosion happened at a duplex off Chaffin Court near Airport Road on Friday, June 14th. The TBI says 48-year-old Jessica Stadelbauer was found responsible for the explosion that rocked the Gallatin neighborhood. Stadelbauer was charged with aggravated arson, vandalism over $250,000, and child abuse/neglect. Her bond was set at $100,000.

After nearly three hours of debate, the Sumner County Commission approved a budget that will update high school athletic facilities. After the bleachers at Beech High School collapsed in 2023, structural engineers were hired to assess the maintenance needs of eight high school stadiums in the district. An audit found issues with several Sumner County High School athletic facilities. The school board had asked for $5.4 million to help pay for upgrades and teacher raises. At a special meeting to vote on the budget Monday night, parents and school officials voiced their frustrations about the stalemate and stressed why this bill needed to get passed.

Two Nashvillians were taken into custody on Monday afternoon after the Mt. Juliet Police Department stopped them for speeding. The department said that during the stop, officers discovered that one of the people in the car was a 29-year-old woman who was wanted and gave false information to avoid arrest. A search revealed two firearms—one with a removed serial number—along with crack cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. She also had a warrant out of Robertson County. A 45-year-old man was also in the car and was arrested on various drug and weapons charges

State Rep. Sabi ‘Doc’ Kumar, R-Springfield, announced TennCare families are now able to receive up to 100 free diapers per month. In 2023, the General Assembly approved the TennCare Diaper Benefit as part of Gov. Bill Lee’s Strong Family Initiative. The approval allowed more families and caregivers to qualify for assistance and established the diaper benefit program. Parents or caregivers can get diapers from select pharmacies, similar to how they would pick up a prescription. They must show the pharmacist their child’s OptumRx pharmacy card in order to receive the diapers. For infants who do not have their card yet, their parent’s OptumRx card or social security number will be accepted.
