Clarksville is working on turning its wastewater into biodegradable pellets while also expanding the city’s water storage. The city is progressing on a nearly $300 million project that would add a 36-million gallon water treatment plant and thermal drying technology to the area. The dryers would turn Clarksville’s wastewater into something useful — and much less smelly. The city hopes to sell the pellets to local farmers for use on their land.

Tennessee’s Department of Treasury returned around $63 million to Tennesseans, many of whom didn’t know they were owed it, after 78,000 claims through the state’s unclaimed property program this past fiscal year. The money is turned over to the state by businesses, organizations, and other groups that cannot find the rightful owner. They have a certain amount of time to locate whoever the property belongs to before they hand it over to the state to be returned through the unclaimed property program. To see if you have money coming go to ClaimItTN.gov.

Hundreds of people showed up at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville to learn what to do during an active shooter training at a free course held by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. The two-hour training course focused on active shooter response was put on by Defend Systems in collaboration with TBI for the third year in a row. Once a year the course is offered to the public for free to teach people how to respond in an active shooter situation. Instructors said they hope the people who attended will share the tips with as many people as they can.

Gallatin Mayor Paige Brown says she is so sorry to anybody who received these papers at their homes. Brown does not want people to give this group attention but says she is working with police and is committed to doing anything they can legally.
