A motorcyclist is dead after being hit by a Jeep that was heading the wrong way on Interstate 24 in Clarksville Sunday evening. At about 5:45 Clarksville Police blocked all westbound lanes until after 10 p.m. Troopers say a 2016 Jeep Patriot was traveling eastbound in a westbound lane on I-24 while a 2024 Kawasaki ZX6 was heading westbound in the same lane. The SUV reportedly hit the motorcycle head-on. The operator of the Kawasaki — identified by officials as 21-year-old Ethan Tran of Tennessee — died from his injuries. The driver of the Jeep — 68-year-old Christopher Mulwa of Tennessee — was wearing his seatbelt, but he was injured in the crash, THP said. He is reportedly charged with vehicular homicide in connection with the incident.

A teenager was brought to the hospital after Clarksville firefighters saved him from a burning building Sunday evening. When the first units arrived at the residence, they found heavy smoke coming out of the eaves and flames from a back window. First responders said the only person home at the time was an unconscious 18-year-old, so they pulled him from the house and performed CPR, restoring his pulse. In addition, a firefighter reportedly sustained a minor injury at the scene. Investigators were at the scene, working to determine the cause of the blaze.

They say the suspect was inside a vehicle that was being pursued by THP when he ran away. Inside the car, authorities said they found guns. He is still on the loose.
