Wilson County authorities are on the lookout for suspects following an armed robbery at a popular Mt. Juliet marina that injured two restaurant employees and led to a bystander’s death in the adjacent parking lot. Following the theft, the suspects fled to the parking lot, where a 27-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds and unresponsive in his vehicle. He later died from his injuries. The Mt. Juliet Police Department is investigating the restaurant robbery, which falls within city limits, and the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deadly shooting in the parking lot, which took place on county property.

The Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs of Springfield in partnership with the City of Springfield will host a State of the City event on Thursday, July 25 at The Center on N. Main Street. Mayor Ann Williams and City Manager Ryan Martin will deliver the Springfield State of the City at an in-person luncheon at 11:30 a.m. The event will include the latest on what is happening in the City of Springfield with updates on public safety, economic development, upcoming events, and more. Tickets are $20 per person and are on sale now at springfieldtn.gov.

Clarksville will celebrate July 4th on July 3 at Liberty Park. The event will be free and open to the public. The park will open at 5 p.m., with activities and music beginning at 6:30 p.m. The evening will conclude with the fireworks show at 9:10 p.m. On Thursday, July 4, there will be festivities on both ends of Cheatham County. In Pegram, from 7 a.m.-9 a.m., Pegram United Methodist Church, located at 479 Thompson Road, will host its annual Fourth of July breakfast. Breakfast plates start at $5. Pegram will then have its annual Fourth of July parade at 10 a.m., then will host its annual Fourth of July celebration at Pegram Park, at the intersection of Highway 70 and Thompson Road, all day, with live music, kids activities, food trucks with food for purchase, and a fireworks display at nightfall.
