Authorities spent several hours surrounding a home in Clarksville amid an ongoing investigation into a Thursday morning killing. Police set up a perimeter around a residence adding that there was no threat to residents in the immediate area or the neighborhood. Investigators described the incident as a domestic-related death and found two people with gunshot wounds when they entered the home. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, but the other is in critical condition and LifeFlighted to Nashville.
Wilson County farmland is in jeopardy as planning commissioners look to rezone it to an industrial park. However, neighbors and farmers are ready to protest the potential development. The land is south of Interstate 40 and the county planning office says a Texas-based company has been eyeing approximately 1,400 acres for an “industrial manufacturing mix.“ Those opposed to the idea created an online petition asking city leaders to vote against the development. That petition now has hundreds of signatures.

It’s National Pollinator Week and the Tennessee Department of Transportation is giving people the chance to help monarch butterflies. TDOT is giving away free milkweed seeds to all Tennessee residents who want to get involved. The seeds are given away through TDOT’s Pollinator Program, which aims to protect the monarch butterfly.
