One person is dead after a shooting in Madison. A man was shot just after 3 p.m. Monday, May 13 near the intersection of Wentworth Street and Gallatin Pike. He was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center where he died. Police describe the Prime suspect as a man wearing green pants and a light-colored hoodie.

A Putnam County duo is dead after a shootout with police following a traffic stop where officers discovered the two were transporting more than $3 million worth of cocaine, possibly to Middle Tennessee. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit began investigating Elizabeth and Edward Stevenson through undercover buys of illegal drugs. A search warrant was issued and executed on May 9. During the search, detectives found 3/4 of a pound of suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, multiple firearms, body armor, and ammunition inside the home. The Stevenson were driving a semi-truck back through Texas with illegal drugs and were armed at the time of the search. Both individuals had made previous statements they would die by “suicide by cop” if law enforcement attempted to stop them

Tennesseans saw another break at the pump this week, with the state gas price average dropping eight cents over last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $3.23 six cents less expensive than one month ago but seven cents more than one year ago. AAA released its 2024 Memorial Day travel forecast today. More than 783,000 Tennesseans are expected to travel by car to their holiday destinations, the second-highest travel volume since 2005. Tennessee gas prices averaged $3.19 per gallon during last year’s holiday weekend.

32-year-old Ryan Babcock who was arrested on Monday, April 29 for aggravated assault, is now facing additional and upgraded charges. Babcock was initially detained for allegedly shooting seven times at Domino’s Pizza delivery driver Caiden Wheeler who mistakenly parked his truck in Babcock’s driveway when he delivered an order to Babcock’s neighbor. Babcock said in the arrest affidavit that he thought Wheeler was trying to break into his vehicle. Babcock was arrested again Thursday after receiving additional charges of second-degree attempted murder, vandalism between $2,500 and $10,000,
