An injured motorist was flown to Nashville Sunday night after being thrown from a vehicle during a crash in Clarksville. Clarksville Police say the two-vehicle wreck took place at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Sunday, May 12 on 101st Airborne Division Parkway, just before Whitfield Road. Officials said one of the drivers was ejected from his vehicle, so a LifeFlight helicopter brought him to a Nashville hospital. There is no word on the motorist’s condition at this time, but investigators from the Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) are investigating/

A sinkhole that has opened up in Clarksville shut down a roadway on Sunday. The sinkhole, at College Street and First Street, has completely shut down College Street between First Street and Second Street. Drivers are urged to find an alternate route.

A driver is dead after crashing into another car in Springfield. The deadly crash occurred at East 22nd Avenue and Woodland Street on Saturday. Tennessee Highway Patrol said that a Dodge Charger attempted to pass a vehicle in a no-passing zone before hitting a Honda Civic head-on, and then crashing into an unoccupied vehicle. The 20-year-old driver of the Charger, Eligh Holmes died in the crash, said THP. A passenger in the car, 20-year-old Timothy Elkins, was injured in the crash. Neither were reportedly wearing their seatbelt. Charges are pending against Elkins, according to the THP report. The driver of the Civic and her two passengers, including a 10-year-old boy, were injured in the crash. The driver and child were wearing their seatbelt. Metro Nashville police need the public’s assistance in identifying a man who they said sexually assaulted a woman in a Vanderbilt Medical Center parking garage.

A female employee of VUMC saw a suspicious man pacing in the East garage, 1215 21st Avenue South, at around 2:15 p.m. Saturday. According to police, when she tried to leave, the man grabbed her from behind. The man reportedly choked the woman and threatened to kill her if she made a noise, said police. And as they struggled, he allegedly forcibly fondled her, before she managed to free herself and escape. Police have surveillance photos of the man wanted for the incident. He is described as a white man with brown hair, with a beard, and a mustache. He wore a short-sleeved shirt with an orange number 5 on the front.
