Robertson County commuters paying less to fill their tanks. Triple-A reports yesterday’s statewide average for a gallon of regular gas was four dollars and 37 cents. That’s lower than the nationwide average of four-75. Last week it was four-47 a gallon.
Delta Dental of Tennessee recently announced the appointment of executive vice president Jeff Ballard to president. The Robertson County native will continue to serve as chief financial officer and Dr. Phil Wenk will continue as CEO. The move will expand Ballard’s internal oversight of the company while granting Wenk the opportunity to be more engaged with the work of Delta Dental’s corporate foundation, the Smile180 Foundation.
The Robertson County government is accepting bids and proposals until July 22 for the sale of two properties owned by the county. Both properties, located in Springfield, are situated within high-traffic areas suitable for various types of business ventures or land investment. Those making a bid can also set up a site visit by contacting County Engineer Traye Fann, and assistance with bid procedures can be found through Taylor Tomblin with the Robertson County Finance Office.
Registration is now open for youth baseball and softball in Springfield. The city’s Parks and Recreation Department is offering the leagues this fall for area residents ages four through 12. U.S. Postal Service customers will see an increase in prices this weekend. Effective Sunday, First Class Forever stamps and the cost of sending a one-ounce domestic letter will go from 58 cents to 60 cents. Postcard stamp prices and the cost of media mail will also increase as will the prices for features like signature confirmation, return receipt, registered mail and certified mail.
