A Sumner County man is facing second degree murder charges in connection with a December overdose. Metro police say 33-year-old Timothy Davis Junior provided fentanyl to Christopher Ellis, leading to his death. Davis was already facing a list of drug charges related to an overdose death in Franklin, Kentucky when he was taken into custody in March. A search of his home by Metro Police and TBI uncovered more than six grams of both fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Mount Juliet Police say a kidnapping suspect is still on the run after a chase ended in a crash yesterday. Investigators are searching for 41-year-old Anthony Maynard, who is accused of stealing a vehicle and driving off with a handicapped woman still inside. Authorities said officers tried to pull the vehicle over, at which point the driver jumped out because Maynard told him not to stop. Maynard then reportedly got into the front seat and drove until he hit two vehicles and the car was disabled on Lebanon Road. He fled the scene on foot and remains at large. Mount Juliet officials are warning residents to stay inside since Maynard is considered armed and dangerous.
