The potential for severe weather is coming to Middle Tennessee.  The National Weather Service in Nashville says showers and thunderstorms will hit the area tomorrow night into Friday.  Forecasters say a few thunderstorms may be severe with damaging wind gusts.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation says they have spent over nine-million dollars to repair potholes across Middle Tennessee this year.  TDOT officials blame a severe winter and aging roads for a higher-than-average number of issues across the state.  Agency spokesperson Rebekah Hammonds says an effort is now underway to use improved asphalt to prevent similar problems in the future.  A prevention plan is in place, with repairs slated for nine different areas that are not expected to withstand another winter season.

Three commencement ceremonies to honor the Austin Peay State University’s Spring 2022 graduates are on the schedule for May 6th.  At 9 a.m. in the Dunn Center, will celebrate the undergraduate degree candidates from the College of Business and the College of Behavioral and Health Sciences.   At 1 p.m. in the Dunn Center undergraduate degree candidates in the College of Arts and Letters, the College of STEM, and the Eriksson College of Education, as well as anyone earning a Bachelor of Science in General Studies or an Associate of Science in Liberal Arts will graduate.  Then, at 4 PM the University will celebrate all graduate students, earning a master’s degree or above.

Twenty educators from across Tennessee are being honored by the CMA Foundation. The foundation has named the Music Teachers of Excellence, which recognizes educators who positively impact their students. There are 30 honorees in all and 20 of them this year are from Tennessee.
