The Robertson County School Board has agreed to begin plans for expanding the building that houses Phoenix Academy, an alternative learning center on the opposite side of the building that houses the school board.  The proposal involves a school psychologist’s office, which is currently located at the teacher center in the Buildings and Grounds Department. The rest of the expansion will be designated for Phoenix. One of the most significant additions will be a testing kitchen, which will allow kitchen staff to be trained here, and at the same time prepare food for students that are in the building. The total cost of the project is estimated at $2.4 million. While the largest cost will go toward the kitchen area, the school district says it has budgeted extra funds to take care of it.
