Springfield police say shots were fired in the area of 15th Ave. West at Bessie Street Saturday night. A few minutes later officers found a victim in the parking lot at 2012 Memorial Boulevard that had been grazed in the leg by a bullet.  Another gunshot victim died at TriStar Northcrest Medical Center.  Police believe the gunplay was the result of an argument and are on the lookout for the suspected shooter.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Springfield Police

One suspect has been arrested and three more persons of interest remain at large in connection with burglaries in the Coopertown, Greenbrier, and Joelton areas last weekend.  The Robertson County Sheriff’s office says 23-year-old Austin Holliman faces three counts of burglary, two counts of theft over $1,000, and one count of theft over $10,000.  Holliman is currently being held in the Robertson County Detention Facility.

A special ceremony today as a flag pole has been added to a park in Clarksville.  It will fly the Ukrainian flag to show support for the eastern European country after being invaded by Russia.  Clarksville got a nearly 24-hundred-dollar donation from the Rotary Club to buy a new 30-foot high flagpole.

A state Senator wants to protect Tennessee educators.  Lebanon Republican Mark Pody [[ Poe-dee ]] says he’ll reintroduce a bill to make teachers feel safe in school in the next legislative session.  Pody says too many people are not showing the proper respect to authority figures and assaults shouldn’t be tolerated.  Last week, a Montgomery County Schools parent hit the principal of Glenellen Elementary School in the face.

An agreement between Robertson County Schools and the out-of-state program iTeach will allow prospective teachers in the county to achieve their certification online.  The partnership would give teachers or students working to become teachers with iTeach the opportunity to directly do work in Robertson County schools.
