A Middle Tennessee high school assistant principal and athletic director is being charged with statutory rape. Garry Chadwell works at Kenwood High in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. The 49-year-old was arrested on Tuesday by Clarksville police for the alleged crime, which happened in January. Chadwell is charged with rape and aggravated statutory rape of a male between 13-to-18-years-old.
A Clarksville-Montgomery County School System student is being charged for allegedly making a false threat. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says a 911 call about a shooter at Rossview Middle School was made yesterday morning. There were two school resource officers on campus at the time of the call. They reported not hearing or seeing anything that would indicate a shooting, the school was locked down and the student was later arrested.
The Tennessee Department of Health is out with its weekly COVID-19 update. TDH says there were nearly 300 cases per day last week. There were also an average of nearly 60 COVID-related deaths per day between April 3rd and the 9th. There have been over two-million-23-thousand COVID cases in Tennessee since the outbreak began.

The study used data from federal authorities to measure which states were catfished the most last year and how much money was lost. Tennessee ranks 18th with nearly 370 victims losing 15-million dollars.
