The State of Tennessee will be seeking the death penalty in the case of James Conn.  He is the suspect accused of the murder of Robertson County Sheriff’s Deputy Savanna Puckett in January. District Attorney General Robert Nash who prosecutes State cases in Robertson County, filed the paperwork on Friday to officially seek enhanced punishment. Nash says the case will most likely go to trial next year.

Out east, Firefighters are gaining control of those raging wildfires.  Tennessee Forestry Division officials said yesterday the Hatcher Mountain fire is 98-percent contained and the Seymour fire is 60-percent contained.  The Hatcher Mountain fire has burned about 25-hundred acres with about 300 structures impacted.  Officials say changes in total acres burned from earlier reports are due to a more accurate mapping of the fire.

New data shows just how competitive the housing market is in the Nashville area.  The median sale price for a house in the greater Nashville area was about 357-thousand dollars in February of last year.  The Greater Nashville Realtors group says one year later it’s increased by 89-thousand to 446-thousand dollars.  That includes surrounding counties like Sumner, Robertson, and Rutherford.

Robertson County Schools is hosting an educational career fair on April 8 from Noon to 4:00. Principals and supervisors will be available for questions and interviews.  While it is encouraged to attend the career fair to have a broader sense of areas you may be suited to serve in, there is still possible to apply online as well.

Pre-k students can now apply for the 2022-2023 school year.  Register your child online at rcstn.net and click on the button in the blue ribbon.  If you want to register in person you can do so at Bransford Elementary Thursday, April 14th or Wednesday, April 20th from 5:00 – 7:00pm both days.
