After a year-long investigation by Greenbrier Detectives, 34-year-old Justin Kyle Morris of Adams was arrested Friday and charged with 2nd-Degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Taylor Elmore of Greenbrier last  year.  Greenbrier Police say Morris was charged with the Sale and Delivery of Fentanyl which killed Elmore.

The Springfield City Council is trying to make it easier to park downtown.  Both local and out-of-town customers complain about not being able to find parking spaces to explore and shop because the spaces are being taken up by business owners’ vehicles. Parking spaces with 15 minute time limits are being proposed for the front of businesses for pickups and drop-offs. It’s thought that would make it more likely business owners would park behind their shops, which would free up the other parking spaces for customers.

The power is back on in Dickson County.  Dickson Electric System officials say almost ten-thousand people were without power yesterday morning.  The power outage happened when the Dickson District Substation went down.  Most of those impacted were in the central and western part of Dickson.

A Brentwood church is remembering seven leaders killed in a plane crash.  A service was held Saturday at Remnant Fellowship Church.  Among the seven people killed in the crash was founder of the Christian diet program The Weigh Down Workshop, Gwen Shamblin Lara.  Their plane crashed on Percy Priest Lake Memorial Day weekend.

This summer the Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee is hosting a coding camp where students are learning computer coding. The camp is free for 4th graders and up. It’s open to any student in the area, in addition to Boys and Girls Club members. To sign up go bgcmt.org.

Deputies are warning homeowners about a rash of thieves breaking into garages in Wilson County. Detectives say they are looking for open garages and side entry doors. They’re then stealing things like power tools, leaf blowers and chainsaws
