The TBI is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Clarksville.  Clarksville police were responding to a loud disturbance early yesterday morning when they heard shots fired with one person being wounded.  Clarksville police confronted someone with a gun and shots were fired.  The first victim, as well as the person shot by police were taken to the hospital.  No officers were injured.

Travelers are being advised to arrive early at Nashville International Airport.  BNA reported “extremely high volume” yesterday.  Airport officials say passengers should “arrive at least two hours early” during the summer travel season.  They said arriving early is “especially” important on Sundays.

The upcoming 4th of July weekend is another reminder that the blood shortage in Tennessee is critical.  Holidays are the prime time for crashes and with a million Tennesseans taking to the roads this week the American Red Cross of Tennessee is putting out a plea for blood donations.  Officials also say there is a high demand from hospitals for blood as many patients put off care during the pandemic and are now dealing with more advanced medical issues. New and continued unemployment claims are down a bit across Tennessee.  New claims are down to 47-hundred-and-36 for the week ending June 19th.  Continued claims dropped to 50-thousand-671 which is about 12-hundred fewer than the week prior.
