U.S. Rep. Mark Green is seeking a third term in office. The Clarksville Republican represents Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District. The district will now include downtown Nashville and northwest Davidson County after Governor Bill Lee recently signed a new redistricting plan into law. Green announced his campaign yesterday.
Housing prices are soaring in Montgomery County. The Montgomery County Assessor of Property reports the median price of a home there is at an all-time high. The current median price for a home in Montgomery County is 260-thousand dollars. That’s up from 170-thousand in 2019.
Thirteen suspects have been charged after a Middle Tennessee human tracking sting this month. The two-day undercover operation focused on individuals seeking sexual contact with minors by placing advertisements on websites linked to prostitution. Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Hendersonville Police Department, Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Homeland Security, and the Tennessee Human Trafficking Task Force were involved with the sting. This is the second operation this year pairing local law enforcement with state and federal agents in an effort to curb human trafficking.
Police body camera footage shows an elected alderman in Portland admitting to calling his minority neighbor the “n-word” following an ongoing dispute over dogs in the neighborhood. Alderman Thomas Dillard can be heard in the recording, obtained by News4 Investigates, admitting to making the racist slur. Dillard mentions in the video that he knows the police body cameras are rolling. Portland’s city attorney said the city could not release the full video and the incident report because it is part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is opening an exhibit dedicated to Florida Georgia Line. The exhibit will run through the end of the year and includes personal items, awards, instruments, and costumes connected to the duo.
