The Mid-State is under a Flood Watch. The National Weather Service issued the watch yesterday. Forecasters say rain will change to freezing rain this afternoon and evening. A Winter Weather Advisory has also been issued.
The Tennessee Department of Health is out with its weekly COVID-19 update. TDH says there were 13-thousand-760 cases per day last week. There were also an average of over 60 COVID-related deaths per day between January 23rd and the 29th. There have been over one-million-866-thousand COVID cases in Tennessee since the outbreak began.
Robertson County Sportfishermen will be happy to know the Bass Master Classic is returning to Knoxville. Professional bass fishing’s biggest event will be held in Knoxville in 2023. This year’s event is being hosted in Greenville, South Carolina. The event next year in Knoxville will be held from March 24th through the 26th on the Tennessee River lakes of Fort Loudoun and Tellico.
The Robertson County Commission will be granting new eligibility for health insurance to more part-time employees of the Robertson County school system. While current laws state that part-time school employees are only eligible for insurance if they work an average of 30 hours of the week, this new resolution would bring that hourly threshold down to 25 hours..
The Montgomery County Trustee’s Office announced Tuesday they would partner with the City of Clarksville to help provide more options to assist residents with tax relief information and property tax payments. This will be the third consecutive year the Trustee’s Office has partnered with the City of Clarksville to support community members filing their taxes. Taxes must be paid in full by Monday, Feb. 28th, or a 1.5% interest fee will be charged for each additional month.
