There are over 22-hundred new coronavirus cases in Tennessee.  The Tennessee Department of Health reported the new cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to over one-million-331-thousand.  An additional 26 COVID-19-related deaths were also reported, with the total number standing at 17-thousand-670.  There are nearly 950 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Tennessee.

A man accused of kidnapping a Middle Tennessee boy is pleading not guilty to multiple charges in Southern California.  Jacob Clare is charged with kidnapping and sexual abuse of a minor after taking his three-year-old son and his teenage niece across the country last month.  He pleaded not guilty to the charges in California yesterday.  Clare is also facing kidnapping charges in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Today is the last day to insure packages shipped through FedEx Ground Economy get to their destinations by Christmas.  Packages being shipped by FedEx Ground need to be shipped by December 15th and that’s also the deadline for FedEx Home Delivery.  Packages going via two-day delivery must be sent by December 22nd., while the overnight services deadline is December 23rd and the FedEx Same Day shipping cutoff is December 24th. 

The Mid State is facing the possibility of severe weather later this week.  The National Weather Service in Nashville says all of Middle Tennessee is under a marginal or slight risk of severe storms tomorrow night into early Saturday.  Forecasters say the main threat will be the potential for straight-line winds and isolated tornadoes.  They say they expect the front to move quickly.

Memorial services are being held for country music legend Stonewall Jackson.  The longtime member of the Grand Ole Opry died at the age of 89 on Saturday after a long battle with dementia.
