A controversial Middle Tennessee pastor says Americans should have medical freedom.  Global Vision Bible Church Pastor Greg Locke [[ Lock ]] attended a freedom rally in Trousdale County yesterday.  Locke has previously called the COVID-19 Delta variant “nonsense.”  He said people need to be free to make their own medical choices, adding “there’s no pandemic.”

The General Motors plant in Spring Hill is hiring.  GM says it’s looking to fill more than 120 temporary production positions.  A hiring event will be held tomorrow from ten o’clock in the morning until four in the afternoon.  GM says it will do interviews and on-site drug testing to make same-day hiring decisions for the positions that start at nearly 17-dollars an hour.

Two of the three men charged with murder in a 2019 home invasion on Dandelion Drive took a plea deal to lesser charges. 36-year-old George Northington and 290yer-old Rasheem Greenwood II were both facing first-degree murder charges, and instead took open guilty pleas to the lesser-included charge of voluntary manslaughter along with especially aggravated burglary. Nicoli Jefferies and Deontrea Milligan were found dead at the scene after the home invasion on Nov. 15, 2019.

Gov. Bill Lee says his chief of staff and adviser Blake Harris is leaving to oversee the Republican’s reelection campaign, as well as assist in Republican Governors Association efforts.  According to a news release, Joseph Williams will take over the chief of staff role at the end of the year. Williams currently serves as the governor’s office director of external affairs.

A medical issue is being blamed for the death of a La Vergne Police Department officer.  Detective Sergeant Kevin Stolinsky died while on duty Friday.  Stolinsky served 20 years with LPD.  The department asked for prayers for Stolinsky’s family as they mourn his loss.
