After 47-years in law enforcement and 11 years working for the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, It’s End of Watch for major Tony Crawford. He announced his retirement earlier this month as jail administrator for the Robertson County Detention Facility. Crawford joined the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office in 2010 where he served as jail administrator. During that time, he was awarded Jail Administrator of the Year for the State of Tennessee. Nearly 600-thousand kids in Tennessee are now eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention opened eligibility for children five-to-eleven this week.  At the height of the COVID Delta variant surge in Tennessee, close to 40 percent of positive cases were among kids.  Some health departments across the state will start vaccinating kids today.

There are over one-thousand new coronavirus cases in Tennessee.  The Tennessee Department of Health reported the new cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to over one-million-284-thousand.  Over 40 additional COVID-19-related deaths were also reported, with the total number standing at 16-thousand-450.  There are over 860 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Tennessee.

Soon you’ll no longer need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative coronavirus test to attend a Predators game.  Bridgestone Arena announced yesterday it’s updating its COVID protocol based on new guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Hockey League.  The change will also apply to other events held at Bridgestone Arena unless those events have their own protocols.  The change will be effective starting November 13th.

Tennessee wants to increase the number of people vaccinated against influenza by providing free flu shots.  All county health departments in Tennessee will hold Fight Flu TN vaccination events on November 9th.  No appointments are necessary to get the shots.  It’s the fourth year in a row for the events.
