40-year-old Dawna Wilson of Cedar Hill has been charged with 2nd-degree murder in relation to the overdose death of 45-year-old Benjamin Pitt of Portland back in April. Wilson is alleged to have delivered the fentanyl-laced drug  that police say killed Pitt. Wilson is currently being held in the Robertson County Jail on a $130,000 bond.

The Wilson County-Tennessee State Fair is being held at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon.  The partnership was needed due to the redevelopment of The Fairgrounds Nashville.  The fair rus through next Saturday.

Remote Area Medical- a major nonprofit provider of pop-up clinics delivering free dental, vision and medical care to underserved and uninsured individuals—will return to Springfield tomorrow to provide free care. No ID is required and medical services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The one-day clinic will be held at The Center, located at 401 North Main St.

The Robertson County Museum & Historical Society will be hosting The Last Days of Frank & Jesse James Festival tomorrow on the Courthouse Square in Springfield, It will include a reenactment of a bank robbery complete with a shootout. There will also be  screenings of the movie The Last Days of Frank & Jesse James throughout the day. The movie, which starred Johnny Cash, Kris Kristopherson, and Willie Nelson, contains scenes filmed in and around the Robertson County Courthouse in 1985.

Sevier County-native Dolly Parton is teaming up with best-selling mystery author James Patterson to write her first novel.  Run, Rose, Run is about a young singer-songwriter who escapes to Nashville where her dark secret follows her.  The book is due to be released in March of 2022.  An album featuring 12 songs “based on the characters and situations in the book,” will drop at the same time.

A Dickson County jury sentence Steven Wiggins to death yesterday for the premeditated murder of Sheriif’s Sergeant Daniel Baker.
