A man was arrested Sunday after a neighbor reportedly found her dog — who later died — with a gunshot wound outside of his Sumner County home. The woman said the dog had left the fence a while back and went to neighbor William Pate’s home. Pate allegedly sent the woman hostile messages over social media following that incident. 29-year-old Brenda Stewart of Hendersonville was convicted of one count of TennCare fraud after she falsely claimed to have custody of her son, which she did not possess. If Stewart had accurately reported her custody status, she would not have been eligible to receive TennCare benefits.
