A Friday morning shooting on Boyd Holland Road left a 46-year-old woman dead with a gunshot wound in the back of her head  and her 15-year-old daughter shot in the wrist. The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office arrested 38-year-old Robert D. Mitchell, orginally charged him attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault and put him in the Robertson County Jail. Now those cha rges will likely be upgraded to murder.

There are over three-thousand new coronavirus cases in Tennessee.  The Tennessee Department of Health reported three-thousand-and-52 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to over 366-thousand-500.  Over a dozen additional COVID-related deaths were reported.  There have been over 45-hundred deaths attributed to COVID-19 statewide since the outbreak began.

State health officials say they expect to get doses of a COVID-19 vaccine soon.  Tennessee Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey says the first doses are expected to be delivered to the state in the middle of next month.  Piercey said the Pfizer vaccine is expected to be delivered first followed by the Moderna vaccine a week later.  She said the first people to get the vaccine will include front line healthcare workers and first responders.
