The City of Springfield Christmas Parade is set for November 23^rd, the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This year the parade will take place in the evening with lighted floats. It will start at 6:00PM and proceed down Main St to 5th down to the Springfield Middle School

Tennessee is reporting a single-day record of new coronavirus cases.  The Tennessee Department of Health reported seven-thousand-951 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to nearly 319-thousand.  More than two-dozen new coronavirus-related deaths were reported.  Over 39-hundred deaths have been attributed to COVID-19 since the outbreak began. In Robertson County, there have been 3,255 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. 2,773 have recovered and 46 have died from COVID-19 in Robertson County.

Online sports betting in Tennessee is a windfall for the state.  The Tennessee Education Lottery, which oversees online sports betting in Tennessee says the state collected more than half-a-million dollars in taxes during the first week of virtual sports gambling from November 1st through the 8th.  The new industry provides funds for education, as well as local governments and problem gambling services.

Robertson County drivers beware.  The annual statewide Click It or Ticket safety campaign is underway.  The campaign is designed to protect travelers during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  The campaign involves police departments, sheriff’s deputies and Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers across the state as they provide extra enforcement of seat belt laws.  Over 50 of the more than one-thousand people who have died on Tennessee roads this year were not wearing seat belts.

If COVID-19 is keeping you away from your family this Thanksgiving, Zoom is giving you a reason to be thankful.  The usual 40-minute limit on meetings is being dropped for Thanksgiving.  With more people changing plans amid the pandemic, Zoom says it doesn’t want family gatherings to get cut short.  The video conferencing company is extending times as a “thank you” to customers.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is conducting Sobriety Checkpoints  the week of November 27^th, on US Highway 41 at the Greenbrier City Limits and the  Lights Chapel Road area in Robertson County from 11 pm to 1 am

Tennessee wants to prevent a “twindemic” of flu and COVID-19.  To help prevent that, the state is offering free flu shots across Tennessee.  The Tennessee Department of Health says the free flu shots will be offered at the Robertson County Health Department Thursday,.  No appointments are needed.
