A Fort Campbell soldier was killed in a crash with a semi-truck while riding a motorcycle in Clarksville Monday just after noon at the intersection of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and Holiday Drive. Clarksville police reported 22-year-old Mikylo Parker was pronounced dead at the scene. He was stationed at Fort Campbell. Anyone with information is asked to contact Clarksville Police.
Concerns have grown about an old drug in a new package, which has gained popularity online. Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, has typically been used as a sedative to help relieve anxiety and nerves. It essentially slows down the nervous system and induces a sense of calm. Hendersonville Police recently seized numerous boxes of laughing gas, from a convenience store. Now, there are fears that the dangerous drug has made a comeback. The product was seized after a search warrant was conducted on New Shackle Island Market. Each package contained the product “Galaxy Gas.”
Metro police are investigating a deadly shooting in Madison in the 300 block of East Webster Street just before 6 p.m. Metro police added that two victims arrived at Skyline Medical Center’s ER with gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at Skyline Medical Center, according to police. The other victim reportedly sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. The vehicle transporting both victims has been held at the hospital because there was a bullet hole in the window, police added.
What’s in your broom closet: Robot vacuums manufactured by Ecovacs have gone rogue, with some customers reporting the tiny tech tools chased them around their homes and pelted them with profanities. Investigators say the main issue with the robot is its Bluetooth connectivity. Anyone with a phone that connects to the robot via Bluetooth can take over the tech from as far away as 450 feet. Once a connection is made, hackers can use the robot’s Wi-Fi connection to stay dialed into the machine. Ecovacs said it would issue a security upgrade for its Deebot X2 series owners in November.
