Cheatham County homeowners are outraged after the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) came out to survey their property for a transmission line project accompanying a new methane gas plant. Homeowners point out that the project has not been approved yet. The TVA was off Sweethome Road in Ashland City surveying land for a transmission line project linked to a new methane gas plant.

Hendersonville has a deer problem. There are simply too many in the area. The recently established deer committee reported there are about 69 deer per square mile on the Saunders Ferry peninsula alone. According to residents, some of the deer destroy gardens, carry ticks, hurt their pets, and create danger on the roads. Hendersonville’s Deer Monitoring and Control Committee has been hard at work talking with folks and coming up with ideas. The committee says step one is complete, allocating money to survey the deer. The second idea includes creating a webpage to monitor population changes.

The Supreme Court is one step closer to having the final say in a contentious battle out of Tennessee over gender-affirming care for minors now that justices have returned to the bench for a new term. The Supreme Court reconvened Monday and is set to hear arguments over whether a Tennessee law that banned gender-affirming care for minors violates the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment during this new term. The law, which passed in 2023, forbids doctors from providing care including puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and gender-affirming surgeries to transgender minors — a topic largely divided by party lines.

More than 129,000 Ram trucks are being recalled due to faulty turn signals. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall is limited to certain 2023-2024 Ram 1500 models. To fix the problem, affected Ram owners can replace the steering column control module for free at a dealer. You can use the NHTSA’s website to determine if your vehicle has any recalls.
