Police in Clarksville are investigating a Monday night single-vehicle rollover crash that happened just before 10 p.m. on Trenton Road near Cyprus Court. The driver of the vehicle that flipped was flown to Nashville by Life Flight Helicopter, their condition was unknown. Fatal crash investigators with the Clarksville Police Department are on the case.
Cheatham County authorities say inattentive drivers have smashed two Cheatham County squad cars in just 24 hours. And while no one was hurt deputies wonder what it would take to make people take the issue of distracted driving seriously. Lieutenant Chris Gilmore says People just aren’t paying attention while driving on the road the way they should.
The search for a suspect is underway following a road rage shooting in Madison on Sunday. Metro Police say a man was shot at the intersection of Old Hickory and Dickerson Pike. As he was being rushed to Skyline Medical Center for treatment the victim told officers he noticed the suspect’s car, a white Dodge Charger, racing another vehicle. At the intersection, the victim was parked in the left turn lane when the driver of the Charger approached the victim’s Volkswagen Passat and started arguing with him. The suspect then allegedly fired one shot into the vehicle before he took off. The investigation remains ongoing.
An 11-year-old at JFK Middle School in the Lakewalk neighborhood of Nashville was arrested Monday for allegedly making school threats over text to other students. The student also posted a photo of himself on Instagram holding firearms. Metro Nashville Police arrested the 6th grader at his home, while the middle school was on fall break. He is charged for allegedly making a threat of mass violence and false reporting.
On Saturday, Vanderbilt won 40-35 against the top-ranked college football team, ending with fans storming to the field and taking the goalpost to the Cumberland River. Parts of the goal post sold out Monday morning. A 4-inch piece of the field goal sold for $1,005 and an 8-inch piece of the field goal crossbar for $4,035.
