Clarksville police are asking for the public’s help locating a second person connected to a homicide case. The Clarksville Police Department says 19-year-old Davontay Tyrek Spencer was present at the time of a shooting on Sept. 10. That day police were called to a home in Ash Ridge Drive, where they discovered Carlos Wills of Lebanon shot. Wills was transported to the hospital where he later died. Upon Wills’s death, Clarksville police identified Za’Kwon Jaterrion Holiday of Clarksville as the suspect. He was charged with homicide. Detectives have now taken out warrants for Spencer, charging him with accessory after the fact, theft of the motor vehicle, and driving on a suspended license. His bond has been set at $100,000.

A coalition of groups rallied in Nashville Saturday against the Tennessee Valley Authority’s proposed list of natural gas power plants across the South. The protest in Centennial Park included groups like the local chapter of the Sierra Club, Sunrise Movement Nashville, and Preserve Cheatham County. Opponents fear pollution, destruction of land and wildlife, noise and traffic, and eminent domain battles with residents. Others at the rally questioned whether natural gas is a cleaner solution to coal, saying in the long run, some research shows methane could be even worse for the environment.

The City of Springfield has picked Benji Davis, as the new gas director. Davis and his wife, Stacey, reside in Hendersonville with their three children: Ben (25), Kendall (21), and Owen (13). Outside of his professional responsibilities, Davis is passionate about vintage records, antique shopping, and engaging in various home remodeling projects. He transitioned into natural gas with Piedmont Natural Gas in Charlotte, NC, in 2001. His career led him to Nashville, Tennessee, where he managed the Piedmont Natural Gas construction office.
