Clarksville police responded to two motorcycle crashes on Monday night — and one was deadly. The first crash was just after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Ft. Campbell Boulevard and Cunningham Lane. The motorcyclist was reportedly transported to Tennova Healthcare by Montgomery County EMS. Their status is unknown at this time. The second crash was at Kraft Street and North 2nd Street and the driver hit that Midtown Inn sign and was pronounced dead at the scene.

At least one person has died following a Monday morning rollover crash in Sumner County in the westbound lanes of Highway 386 near mile marker 14. Gallatin Fire Chief Jeff Beaman said the collision involved one vehicle. The vehicle reportedly rolled over, ejecting one person who died at the scene. That person was later identified as 61-year-old Kathy Mowell.

A Wilson County teacher is making sure every student has a comfortable seat. Fifth-grade math and science teacher Kimberly Knowlton said that she saw success in her classroom after introducing some flexible seating, a classroom arrangement that provides students with various seating options. She aims to raise the funds to bring in flexible seating options like balance balls, wiggle cushions, and cushioned stools. Knowlton explained that some of these options also engage students’ core muscles so that they stabilize themselves as they work. In partnership with The Gates Foundation, Knowlton has raised over $400.00 However, she still needs $125 to reach her goal.

Fisher-Price recalls thousands of its dumbbell toy sets because of a possible choking hazard to infants. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Thursday which involves about 366,200 baby dumbbell toys made by Fisher-Price. The plastic dumbbell toy was sold with the Fisher-Price Baby Biceps Gift Set. The recall stated that there have been seven reports of the ends of the dumbbell coming off the product. Consumers have been advised to immediately stop using the recalled dumbbell toy and to take it away from young children along with contacting Fisher-Price to receive a refund.
