A fire truck crashed in White House while responding to a call on Tuesday afternoon. The White House Community Volunteer Fire Department received a call around 4 p.m. about a vehicle reportedly leaking propane while still running. Truck 51 was responding to another call and went to respond to the suspected propane leak. While responding, Truck 51 braked to turn left, but the truck pulled right and went into a ditch. The truck traveled about 75 feet before stopping. Although traffic was affected by the incident for about an hour while crews moved the truck, the department said nobody was injured. The truck received minimal damage.

The death penalty is an option for the Hendersonville mother charged with drowning her 7-year-old daughter. 33-year-old Brandi Elliott was charged with first-degree murder following the incident. No bond was set at the hearing because it could be a capital case. However, the District Attorney said they were not sure if they would seek the death penalty in this case. Elliott is not currently under the care of any mental health professional, though she has been in the past. Elliott does not have any prior criminal court record. Elliott’s attorney declined for her to be placed under a mental health evaluation.

A child is dead after a jet ski crash on Old Hickory Lake Tuesday night. Wilson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Creighton Lake area of Old Hickory Lake at roughly 4:30 p.m. to respond to a crash involving a jet ski. The Sheriff’s Office’s boat patrol also responded to the scene and worked to transport the child to a local hospital. That child left the scene in critical condition but later died from the injuries. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will be the primary agency investigating this incident.

Gas prices across the state reversed course last week and fell five cents, on average. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $3.11 which is seven cents more expensive than one month ago and two cents more than one year ago. AAA says despite the expected upward pressure on gas prices, we saw our prices move less expensive than last week here in Tennessee. They also say that if market conditions persist, it’s likely that we could see our gas prices hold steady again this week. As of today, Tennessee has the third least expensive state gas price average in the country.”
