Sumner County will be down a health clinic for the foreseeable future. their Hendersonville will not open citing a lack of air conditioning. Sumner County is for the health and safety of patients and staff in this extreme summer heat. The plan now is to expedite the building of a new facility at its current location, using approved grant funding. Patients of Hendersonville’s health center will have to go to Gallatin for services, roughly 10 miles away. Replacing the HVAC unit was considered, to be too costly, according to Sumner County Mayor John Isbell.

The Fort Campbell community is mourning the loss of 30-year-old Sergeant Nicholas Smith, who died on Saturday after a motorcycle crash. Smith’s is one of many motorcycle-related crashes in Montgomery County, which is on track to surpass the total number of motorcycle crashes that the area saw in 2023. By the end of June, the county had seen nearly 20 more motorcycle crashes compared to that same time in 2023. Lisa McClain, an administrator for the Montgomery County Driver Safety Program, said the county is actively studying motorcycle crashes through the Clarksville-Montgomery County Traffic Safety Task Force.

The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in the search for two stolen dump trucks. WCSO said in a Facebook post that a white 2019 Peterbilt dump truck and a black 2024 Peterbilt dump truck were stolen between July 3 and July 4 on Murfreesboro Road. Both trucks have Empire Construction Solutions, LLC displayed on the side. If you have any information on possible locations for the trucks or any information about the theft, WCSO asks that you contact them.

The state’s sales tax holiday on clothing, school supplies, and computers is near. From 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 26, Tennesseans can get some shopping relief until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 28.
