Three suspects accused of “brutally attacking and stabbing” a man outside a hardware store in Murfreesboro were taken into custody Tuesday following a pursuit in Clarksville. Automatic license plate reader technology reportedly helped Murfreesboro Police track the three suspects to a location in Montgomery County. Officials said the suspects tried to evade Clarksville Police, leading officers on a pursuit Tuesday afternoon. However, authorities were able to take two of the suspects into custody. The third suspect was arrested after a short foot pursuit. Police have not identified the suspects, two of which are juveniles.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee unveiled his Education Freedom Scholarship Act. His office says the legislation aims “to provide every Tennessee parent with the opportunity to choose the right education for their child while prioritizing families with the greatest need.” The proposal would expand a voucher program to all 95 counties in Tennessee, allowing tax money to cover the tuition of a student going to a private school. Democrats believe it moves money away from public schools – and Tennesseans shouldn’t be paying for other students to go to private school.
Thieves targeted a Spring Hill laundromat early Sunday Morning and stole close to $1,000 in change. The man who went inside stayed there for almost 20 minutes, pretending to wash clothes. He was wearing a tan coat with an American Flag Decal on it. He was pushing a laundry basket that had burglary tools in it, including what appeared to be a pair of vice grips and a small sledgehammer. After finally breaking into the machine, he lifted out the heavy change box with nearly $1,000 in quarters inside. He put the box in his basket and wheeled it to the SUV before he and his accomplice drove away.
