Tennessee gas prices are once again trending less expensive. Over last week, prices at the pump fell eight cents, on average. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $3.02 which is 26 cents less expensive than both one month and one year ago.  The national average for a gallon of gas shaved off eight cents since last week, falling to $3.41. The primary reasons are flat demand at the pump and lower costs for oil.

A Lebanon High School student was arrested Tuesday after school resource officers located a loaded handgun in his vehicle. The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office says school resource officers at Lebanon High School took the 16-year-old student into custody after a search of his vehicle revealed a loaded 9mm handgun underneath the driver’s side seat. They also say a serial number showed the handgun was marked as stolen out of Lebanon. A knife was also located in the vehicle.  The student was immediately taken into custody and transported to Youth Services, according to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear won reelection to a second term Tuesday, notching another significant statewide victory in an increasingly red state.    The outcome gives divided government another stamp of voter approval in Kentucky, as Republicans hold supermajorities in both chambers of the legislature and continue to dominate the state’s congressional delegation, including both U.S. Senate seats.
