Two weeks from the mayoral election, multiple City of Franklin Aldermen are calling one of the candidates an embarrassment and for her to be censured. During a regular meeting of the City of Franklin Mayor and Board of Aldermen, four members of the board spoke out against mayoral candidate and alderman Gabrielle Hanson. Hanson has been the subject of a number of recent controversies ranging from making unfounded claims about the Covenant School shooting to being accompanied by men identified as white nationalists at a recent event.
A Manchester man was arrested Monday after investigators said they connected him with an account that was sharing child sexual abuse material on the internet. Police say 48-year-old Daniel Odell Gregory is the person behind the account. He is charged with 11 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and was booked into the Coffee County Jail on a $950,000 bond.
55-year-old Olympian gymnast Mary Lou Retton is reportedly “fighting for her life”. McKenna Kelley, Retton’s daughter says her mother was diagnosed with a very rare form of pneumonia and has been in intensive care for more than a week. Kelley said in a fundraiser post that Retton was not insured and asked for donations and prayers.
A Kentucky couple is in trouble accused of paying a child to babysit their children. The child lived with 34-year-old Trever L. Johnson and 30-year-old Amber E. Caldwell, who, instead of paying the child in cash, are accused of paying for their babysitting service in marijuana. Both Johnson and Caldwell are facing charges of unlawful transaction with a minor in the second degree and human trafficking – forced labor.
A GoFundMe account providing funds for families affected by the attack by Hamas on Israel has been launched by organizers in Nashville. The fundraiser titled Nashville Stands With Israel has so far raised $16,460 of a $20,000 goal. One donation alone from an anonymous supporter accounts for $10,000 alone.
